I just noticed that Twitter added a new feature to one of my Twitter accounts. On the Twitter blog I cannot find any official announcement. It looks like Twitter is testing a new retweeting mechanism among several users. The basic idea looks nice. First of all you can notice by an icon that it is about a retweet, but more important is that you directly receive statistics about the amount of retweets.

retweet-beta-exampleThe beta retweet functionality is spreading around the Twitter users. Two days after my initial announcement I can see the new functionality in more accounts. I really like this new feature. As you can see in the example above a nice icon shows you directly that this Tweet is a ReTweet. The last line shows you how often a Tweet has been ReTweeted, which tells you something about the possible relevancy of the Tweet. It will also show the names of the ReTweeters you are following.

If you conclude a bit later that you regret the ReTweeting, you are also able to undo.

I am curious what you think about this new feature. You are invited to leave a comment below.
