Seesmic desktop based on Adobe Air used to be one of my favorite Twitter clients up to the moment that FleetDeck desktop arrived. Seesmic had too many performance issues, Tweets were missing. Today I received the announcement of the Preview Version of Seesmic for Windows which made me very curious again. The first impression looks promising.

Seesmic announced their Windows version at the Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference (PDC), in Los Angeles. They presented their popular twitter client as a feature-rich native application for Windows.

Also the Windows version is a fully functional Twitter client:

  • Manage and posts from multiple twitter accounts
  • View aggregated Home, Replies, Private and Sent columns.
  • Create and save searches
  • View your Twitter lists and create your own groups
  • Create unlimited columns
  • Enable choice of multiple image and url shortening services
  • Manage notification of your messages.

Seesmic promises it uses the best of what Windows 7 has to offer:

  • Drag and drop to add user lists
  • Sleek and Smooth User Interface
  • Increased performance
  • Full panel Twitter user profile
  • Tabbed view of Accounts and Twitter lists

The performance on my Windows 7 PC is really good. The interface looks a lot better than the previous Adobe Air based one. The drag and drop of users to lists is really nice.

If you are a Seesmic and Windows lover I would give this new release a try. Especially because of its performance. You can download the Preview version of Seesmic for Windows here:
