Agile development – how to handle customers
View CommentsIn my previous post I outlined the issue of too flexible approach towards the customer. In the example I provided you were presented as a painter and me as your customer. A few changes of my ideas regarding the color of the room resulted in you spending 3 more hours to complete the job and spending additional 10$. Not very good. On the other hand, not too harmful so what’s a big deal ? Unfortunately in the real world, where money matters – this is a very huge one.
Poland still among the top offshore locations
View Comments“The Shifting Geography of Offshoring” is the title of this year’s Global Services Location Index ™ by AT Kearney. And the title is self-explanatory. AT Kearney concluded that there are some dramatic changes in the attractiveness of offshore outsourcing locations. Especially a lot of Central and Eastern European countries, among them Poland, dropped dramatically in the ranking. AT Kearney states that this is mainly due to the dramatic change in the conversion rates of the local currencies towards the US Dollar. Although I have always been a great fan of yearly reports, this year I have some doubts. Especially because the currency rates are shifting quickly and like AT Kearney states this is less of an issue for Euro countries. This makes the conclusions of the report less applicable to European countries, and even worse, the index might not be valid any longer due to serious economic changes.

A Microsoft .NET Reporting Services usage story
View CommentsDuring the design stage of any software project, regarding any business/finance activity, it’s often visible from the very beginning that some kind of reporting component will be needed for providing user friendly output data. View CommentsCommon CV mistakes in IT recruitment
View Comments
Based on hundreds of CVs I have scanned throughout my developer hiring career I fully agree that a good CV is a key to success! The purpose of a CV is to provide a recruiter with as much relevant information as necessary in the most approachable and cohesive manner. This is not always the case though. I have noticed a number of mistakes on CVs that in the case of some companies may spoil the chances of even the best man for the job. Here, at GOYELLO, we try not to be so strict and not jump at conclusions too hastily.
